Mu Op Sauce Ma Prow On - Pork in Young Coconut Sauce

For this dish, you need either the flesh & juice of young green coconut or if you can't find that, get young coconut in a can in it's own juices. Older brown coconuts will not work for this recipe.

Yield:

Serves 2-4

Ingredients

  1. 300 gms Pork Meat
  2. 50 gms Young Coconut Meat With Juice
  3. 2 Tablespoons Ketchup
  4. 2 Tablespoons Light Soy Sauce
  5. 2 Tablespoons Oyster Sauce
  6. 2 Tablespoons Chilli Sauce
  7. 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
  8. 2 Tablespoons Red Wine
  9. 1 Teaspoon Salt
  10. 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  11. 1 Teaspoon White Pepper
  12. 2 Tablespoons Water

Directions

  1. Clean the pork meat and slice it into bite size strips.
  2. Mix all ingredients in a small bowl, add the pork, cover and all it to marindate overnight in the refridgerator.
  3. In a medium saucepan over moderate heat, add the pork and marinade and simmer slowly (10-15 minutes) untill the pork has cooked through and the marinade has reduced in volume.
  4. Serve hot with white rice and chinese cabbage (bok choy).
